What does Beadnell have to offer – Lots!! A beautiful beach, golden sand, sand dunes, rock pooling, picturesque walks, water sports. A small village offering Pubs, a church and village shop and lots of history!
One of the main attractions to Beadnell is its wonderful Beach. In a horseshoe shape, it hugs the coastline for miles. It’s just incredible to saunter along the beach, barefoot in the water taking in the scenery. At the end of the beach is the Long Nanny, a river which runs into the sea, this can be crossed via the old wooden footbridge hidden out of sight from the beach, alternatively just wade through it! Walking further along you will come across Low Newton and Newton by the Sea. In the distance you can see the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. Back on the Beach enjoy family activities, rock pooling or many types of water sports.
For those days and nights you want a drink or a bite to eat there are 3 eateries in beadnell village all within easy walking distance from the apartment.
The Craster Arms, my local, achieved the National Pub and Bar Awards 2021, County winner!! – Also Trip Advisors Travellers Award 2022, 2nd year running!! great pub food with relaxed atmosphere, has an open fire in the winter months and is dog-friendly! The large beer garden is a great space which now has ‘Pods’ and is ideal for outside dining and watching regular live music!
Almost next door to the Craster Arms is the Beadnell Towers Hotel. A newly refurbished establishment. The restaurant offers a slightly more ‘fine dining’ approach to it’s food.
If you fancy a little ‘Bistro’ dining, just across the road from The Craster Arms is The Salt Water Café. From breakfasts to afternoon tea or evening dining with a glass of prosecco, this little bistro is well worth a visit.
If you’re wanting Fish and Chips an Italian meal or a meal in the local Indian Restaurant, travel to Seahouses, just 2 miles away. Seahouses also hosts pubs serving great food.
Near the harbour are historic limekilnes dating from 1747, which were later used for curing herring. They are now owned by the National Trust. Beadnell is within the North Northumberland Heritage Coast and the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
